Seamer lies between Scarborough and the North Yorkshire Moors, serving as a gateway between coast and countryside. The A64 trunk road provides the main connection to York and Leeds, whilst local routes lead to Whitby via the A1039 and south to Filey. Most journeys are short-distance trips serving the rural community, though summer brings increased traffic heading to coastal resorts.
