Sanford is a small river town in central Michigan, about 20 miles northwest of Midland via M-30. Most visitors come from Midland or Bay City on short regional drives, while long-distance travelers connect through US-10 or I-75 via Midland. The community centers around Sanford Lake, formed by a dam on the Tittabawassee River.
