Sandhills lies along the A283 between Godalming and Haslemere in Surrey's rolling countryside. Most visitors arrive via the A3, exiting at Milford to pick up the A283 southbound. The village sits on elevated ground within the Surrey Hills, where sandy soils and heathland create the distinctive landscape. Around 90 public EV charging points serve the area. Traditional wells throughout the village still mark the natural springs that emerge from the underlying Greensand Ridge.
