Salem is a tiny farming community in southeastern Nebraska with just over 100 residents. Located along Highway 4 about 15 miles from the Missouri River, it's reached via Highway 75 south from Omaha (90 miles) or Highway 2 west from Nebraska City. The restored 1920s grain elevator remains the town's most recognizable landmark, visible for miles across the surrounding cornfields.
