Salamanca is a small city in southwestern New York's Allegheny River valley, about 65 miles southeast of Buffalo via I-86 and US Route 17. The main routes include US 17 running east-west through town, US 219 for north-south travel, and State Route 353 connecting to nearby communities like Olean and Little Valley. It's uniquely situated as the only U.S. city built entirely on a Native American reservation, with all land leased from the Seneca Nation.
