Ruston is a small waterfront city on Commencement Bay, just north of Tacoma. Take SR-16 west from I-5, then exit at Pearl Street for the most direct route from Seattle or Olympia. The drive from Seattle takes about 45 minutes. The 571-foot ASARCO smokestack dominates the skyline as a historic landmark from the area's industrial copper smelting days.
