Rossaveel (Ros a' Mhíl)
Ireland
Rossaveel is a working fishing village on Galway's Atlantic coast that doubles as the main ferry port for the Aran Islands. Take the R336 coastal road west from Galway city for a grand 37-kilometer drive through Gaeltacht country where you'll hear plenty of Irish being spoken. The route winds past stone-walled fields and traditional cottages, with Galway Bay stretching out beside you and the Aran Islands visible on a clear day. The village keeps its authentic character with fishing boats sharing the small harbor alongside ferries heading to Inis Mór.
