Rookhope

England
Rookhope is a former lead mining village high in County Durham's Weardale, reached via the B6278 from Stanhope or the scenic route through Allenheads. The village sits dramatically where Rookhope Burn carves through the North Pennines moorland at over 400 metres elevation. Its tiny 1863 Methodist chapel continues to serve fewer than 200 residents, making it one of England's smallest active places of worship.
