Riverstown (Tipperary/Offaly)

Riverstown straddles the Tipperary-Offaly border where the R440 crosses the River Camcor, making it a handy midlands stopover. The N52 runs just south of the village, connecting it to Tullamore and Birr, while Dublin is about 90 kilometers via the M4 to Kinnegad then the N52 southwest. From Cork, you'd typically go M8 to Portlaoise then north through Mountrath on regional roads. The village sits in classic midlands farming country with its patchwork of green fields, and takes its name from the River Camcor, which flows northeast toward the Shannon system.
