Pound Street

Pound Street lies in West Berkshire's chalk downlands, accessed via the A34 and local roads from Newbury or Whitchurch. The A339 provides another route from Newbury, about 8km southeast. Over 100 EV charging points serve the wider area. The village name comes from its historical livestock pound, where stray animals were held until owners paid release fees.
