Polmood is a small Borders village on the A701 Edinburgh-Dumfries road, about 50km south of the capital through the Southern Uplands. The settlement sits in the upper Tweed Valley near Tweedsmuir, with local roads connecting to Broughton and the A72. Its most notable feature is the collection of old stone bridges spanning the burns that converge here to join the River Tweed.
