Pilgrim's Rest

Pilgrim's Rest is that old gold mining dorpie up in the Mpumalanga escarpment, reached via the winding R533 from Lydenburg, or off the N4 through Dullstroom if you're coming from Joburg side. Locals hop over to Ohrigstad or Lydenburg for daily errands, while the Panorama Route to Graskop and Blyde River Canyon pulls in the tourists. There's one fast EV charger nearby too. The whole town is a national monument, with corrugated iron miners' cottages still standing from the 1870s gold rush days.
