Pasturefields lies in central Staffordshire between Stafford and Stone, easily reached via the A34. The M6 is 10km west through Stone, whilst the A51 provides east-west connections to Lichfield. Most journeys are local runs to Great Haywood, Weston or Hixon, though the area serves as a convenient base for exploring the Trent Valley. The settlement's name reflects the ancient grazing lands that still characterise this agricultural corner of the county.
