Parkston is a farming town of about 1,900 people in southeastern South Dakota, accessible via Highway 18 (the main east-west route) and Highway 37 (north-south). It's 60 miles northwest of Sioux Falls and 30 miles west of Mitchell, serving as a quiet agricultural hub in Hutchinson County. The downtown Roxy Theater from the 1920s still shows current movies with its original charm intact.
