Palnure lies just outside Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway, accessed via the A714 from either the A75 Euro route or continuing north toward Ayrshire. The area offers about ten fast EV charging points nearby and serves as a gateway to Galloway Forest Park. The Victorian railway viaduct's stone arches still span the River Cree, marking the village's railway heritage.
