Palmers Flat lies within the Forest of Dean's cluster of former mining villages, reached via the A4136 through Coleford. The settlement sits amongst Coalway, Milkwall and Broadwell, all connected by the narrow lanes that once served the area's coal pits. About 50 fast EV chargers serve the wider Forest of Dean. The local roads still follow the original routes built to connect the old collieries.
