Osawatomie is a small eastern Kansas city about 50 miles southwest of Kansas City, where two rivers meet in rolling prairie country. US 169 and State Route 68 intersect here, making it a convenient stop for travelers between Kansas City and points south. The town preserves John Brown's 1850s cabin, where the famous abolitionist lived during the Bleeding Kansas era.
