Orrick is a farming town of about 700 people in Ray County, 30 miles northeast of Kansas City. Take I-35 north to Exit 42, then Highway 10 east through Richmond. Highway 13 runs north-south through town toward Lexington and Carrollton. The original 1887 railroad depot still stands on Main Street as a community center.
