Orono is an upscale lakeside community on Lake Minnetonka, about 20 miles west of Minneapolis via Highway 12 and I-394. The scenic drive takes you through Minnesota's lake country with its mix of wetlands and oak forests. Flying Cloud Airport sits nearby for private aviation access. The town is home to the historic Minnetonka Yacht Club, which has hosted prestigious sailing regattas since 1882.
