The village connects via the R173 coastal road, about 100 kilometers from Dublin through Dundalk on the M1 and N1. From Belfast, take the A1 south to Newry, then cross into Ireland via the N1. Carlingford is just 8 kilometers west along the same coastal route. The village runs Ireland's only cable ferry to Warrenpoint in Northern Ireland, operating on an underwater cable system since 1970.
