Old Battery lies along Fife's coast near Aberdour, reached via the A921 from the A90 or through local roads from the M90 at Inverkeithing. The settlement takes its name from coastal defense works that once protected the Firth of Forth, with cannon emplacements still visible along the rocky shore.
