Oakthorpe is a small Leicestershire village near the Derbyshire border, set within the National Forest's reclaimed coalfield landscape. The A444 through nearby Measham provides quick access to the M42 and A42 motorways, connecting Birmingham, Leicester, and Nottingham. East Midlands Airport is 20 kilometers southeast via the A42.
