North Salt Lake lies along Interstate 15 between Salt Lake City and Bountiful, making it easily accessible from anywhere along the Wasatch Front. The city sits in the narrow valley between the Great Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains, with hot, dry summers and snowy winters typical of Utah's high desert. I-15 provides the main access route, while Highway 89 runs through the eastern foothills and Route 68 connects to Salt Lake City International Airport 12 miles away. The Utah State Fairpark hosts the state's largest annual fair each September.
