Newtyle is a small Angus town on the A94 between Perth and Dundee, sitting in the fertile Strathmore valley. Most visitors arrive via the A94 from Perth (20km) or connect from the A923 near Dundee. The surrounding countryside features rolling farmland beneath the Sidlaw Hills, with over 70 EV charging points in the wider area. The town was once the terminus of one of Scotland's first passenger railways, the Dundee and Newtyle line from 1831.
