Newtown (Tipperary)

Newtown sits on the N24 between Limerick and Waterford, about 25 kilometres southeast of Limerick city. The main route runs straight through town, with drivers from Dublin taking the M7 to Limerick then continuing on the N24, while Cork traffic comes via the N20 to Charleville. Local roads like the R515 and R516 connect to surrounding Tipperary villages and farming areas. The town's centrepiece is an elegant three-arch limestone bridge over the Camogue River, built in the 18th century for the old coaching route to Clonmel and still carrying traffic today.
