Newby Head

Newby Head is a high moorland junction in the Yorkshire Dales where the B6255 meets roads from Ribblehead and surrounding valleys. Most visitors arrive via Hawes or Ingleton, with the route forming part of scenic drives between the Lake District and Dales. The exposed location at over 1,000 feet means harsh weather year-round, particularly in winter when snow can close the passes. The historic Newby Head Farm remains a working establishment serving travelers exploring the Three Peaks area.
