Muinebeag, or Bagenalstown, sits on the River Barrow about 100 kilometers south of Dublin, with good rail connections to both Dublin and Waterford. The N9 provides main access, while the R705 and R724 link to Carlow and Athy respectively. It's a handy base for exploring the Barrow corridor and Blackstairs Mountains, with over 30 fast chargers for electric vehicles. The Barrow Way follows the old towpath through town, offering grand cycling and walking along flat routes. Walter Bagenal's striking Greek temple courthouse remains from his mad scheme to build an Irish Versailles here.
