Muckamore lies in County Antrim countryside, well-connected by the M22 motorway from Belfast and the A57 to Antrim town. Most visitors use the M22 for onward journeys to the Causeway Coast, whilst locals rely on the A57 for daily travel. Belfast International Airport sits 15 kilometres southwest. The settlement houses Muckamore Abbey Hospital, a major psychiatric facility operating for over a century.
