Moyvoughly

Moyvoughly sits on the N6 dual carriageway between Dublin and Galway, making it a handy stop for cross-country travel about 100 kilometres from either city. The R446 heads north to Mullingar and south to Birr, while the R390 connects to Athlone just 15 kilometres southwest. With around 30 electric charging stations in the area and good road links including the parallel M6 motorway, it's well set up for modern travel. The town lies near the River Shannon and close to Kilbeggan Distillery, one of Ireland's oldest licensed whiskey makers that's been running since 1757 and still uses its original waterwheel.
