Merkadale is a small settlement on Skye's west coast near Loch Harport, reached via the A87 and A863 from Portree (25km). The area sits close to Talisker Distillery and provides access to dramatic coastal scenery and the Cuillin Hills. Highland cattle graze among centuries-old stone field boundaries.
