Mendip

Mendip lies amid Somerset's limestone uplands, accessible via the A39 and connecting roads from the M5 at Junction 21. The A371 from Wells and A367 from Bath provide alternative routes through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The limestone terrain features dry stone walls, hidden valleys, and the famous Wookey Hole Caves where the River Axe vanishes underground through chambers carved over millennia.
