Meavy is a small Dartmoor village about 10 miles from Plymouth, reached via the A386 and B3357 through Yelverton. Popular with walkers exploring western Dartmoor, it sits where moorland meets gentler countryside along the River Meavy. The village church contains an exceptional 15th-century carved rood screen, one of Devon's finest surviving examples of medieval woodwork.
