Mayfield is a residential area on Cork's northern edge, about 10 minutes from the city centre via Old Youghal Road. It's handy for commuters working in Cork and sits on hills overlooking the Lee Valley. The N20 runs through, connecting to Mallow and Dublin, while Cork Airport is 15 kilometres south. Families often stay here when visiting Trabolgan Holiday Village, and it's popular with golfers heading to Fota Island. The Mayfield Sports Complex has one of Cork's few Olympic-standard swimming pools, attracting competitive swimmers from across Munster.
