Marceline, a small Missouri city of 2,300, sits along US Highway 36 in rolling farmland about 100 miles northeast of Kansas City. The town connects to major routes via US 36 east-west and State Route 5 north-south, with most visitors arriving from Kansas City (I-35 north to Cameron, then US 36 east) or Columbia (US 63 north to US 36 west). Walt Disney spent his childhood here from 1906-1911, and the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway still runs freight trains directly through downtown.
