Magheraroarty (Machaire Rabhartaigh)

Magheraroarty is a small coastal village in northwest Donegal that's mainly known as the ferry terminal for Tory Island. You'll find it about 25 kilometers from Dunfanaghy along the R257, roughly 45 minutes from Letterkenny via the N56 and R251 through Creeslough. Donegal Airport is 30 kilometers southeast if you're flying in. The stone pier at Ballyness Bay was specially built to handle the Atlantic swells, and ferry crossings to Tory Island can be quite the experience when the sea's up.
