Maggots End is a small Essex village near the Hertfordshire border, accessible via the A120 from M11 Junction 8. Despite its off-putting name, it sits in pleasant rolling countryside between Bishop's Stortford and Saffron Walden, with London Stansted Airport just a few miles southwest. The name comes from the Old English "Magot's ende," meaning the boundary of Magot's settlement.
