Machynlleth

Machynlleth sits at the heart of mid-Wales where several valleys converge, connected by the A487 running north-south and the A489 from the east. Popular routes include the scenic drive from Aberystwyth and the mountain approach from Dolgellau, whilst locals commonly travel to Newtown or coastal towns. The town houses the Centre for Alternative Technology, complete with its distinctive water-powered cliff railway entrance.
