Macclesfield perches on the edge of the Peak District in Cheshire, serving as a gateway between Manchester and the moors. The A523 runs north to Stockport and south toward Leek, whilst the A538 connects Chester with Wilmslow and Manchester Airport, about 12 miles northeast. The notorious A537 Cat and Fiddle Road climbs east to Buxton through dramatic Peak District scenery. With over 80 EV charging points and good motorway links via the M6, it's well-positioned for both commuters and Peak District explorers. The town's Silk Museum occupies the original Sunday School where Victorian mill children learned their letters.
