Lower Hayton

Lower Hayton occupies a quiet spot in Shropshire's countryside, just off the A49 between Shrewsbury and Ludlow. Most visitors approach via this main route before turning onto local lanes that thread between the area's characteristic fields and hedgerows. The village sits amongst several similar settlements including Upper Hayton and Stanton Lacy, connected by a network of country roads that serve both daily commuters and weekend explorers. The parish church houses a remarkably preserved medieval rood screen, one of Shropshire's few to survive the Reformation intact.
