Lower Halstow is a small Kent village on the A228 between Rochester and Sheppey, reached via M2 Junction 5 then A249. The flat marshland setting offers typical estuary countryside with moderate maritime weather. Most traffic uses the A228 north-south route, whilst daily commuters take country lanes to nearby Sittingbourne through Upchurch. Electric vehicle drivers will find around 90 fast chargers in the area. The village's working brick and tile works has operated continuously since the 1870s, still producing traditional Kent peg tiles from local marsh clay.
