Lowell is a small Gaston County city about 20 miles west of Charlotte via Interstate 85. Highway 274 runs east-west through town, connecting to I-85 and nearby Gastonia. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is 25 miles east, roughly 30-40 minutes by car. The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden spans 380 acres with themed gardens and walking trails.
