Loretto is a small Kentucky town of 683 people in Marion County, accessible via the Bluegrass Parkway at Exit 91. It's about 45 miles from Louisville and just 8 miles south of bourbon country's Bardstown on US-31E. The town sits in rolling bluegrass hills with a humid subtropical climate. Loretto is famous for the Maker's Mark Distillery, where bourbon bottles are still hand-dipped in red wax with exactly seven rotations.
