Long Ashton

England

Long Ashton sits just outside Bristol in North Somerset, a former mining village turned sought-after residential area beneath the Mendip Hills. The A370 runs straight through, connecting Bristol city centre 6km east with Weston-super-Mare westward, whilst the M5 Junction 19 provides motorway access via the A369. The village retains its character despite proximity to Bristol, and houses the Long Ashton Research Station, established in 1903, where scientists developed many traditional cider apple varieties still grown across Somerset today.
