The N68 runs straight through town, connecting northeast to Ennis and west toward Kilrush on the Shannon Estuary, while the R473 heads south to Sixmilebridge and the N18 junction. The town's main street features Rainbow Row, a distinctive line of houses painted in different bright colours that's become a proper landmark for anyone driving the N68.
