Lansdown

Lansdown perches on Bath's northern heights, offering commanding views across the Cotswolds from its limestone plateau. The A46 provides the main link to Bath city centre 4km south and the M4 at Junction 18, whilst the A420 and B3109 serve local traffic to surrounding villages. Most long-distance visitors arrive via the M4 then A46 south, or the A4 from London through Bath. The 1643 Civil War battlefield here saw the war's bloodiest West Country engagement, commemorated by Sir Bevil Grenville's monument.
