Laneshaw Bridge

England

Laneshaw Bridge straddles the Lancashire-Yorkshire border in the Pennine foothills, reached via the A56 from Colne or local roads from Skipton. The village sits on the old coaching route between East Lancashire's mill towns and the Yorkshire Dales, with the M65 providing motorway access from Manchester and the A629 connecting from Leeds. The original 18th-century packhorse bridge, built from local millstone grit with distinctive rounded arches, still carries traffic across Colne Water at the county boundary.
