Lakewood is a planned community in southeast LA County, about 20 miles from downtown. Major routes include I-605 along the eastern edge, SR-91 across the north, and I-405 just to the west, connecting you to Orange County, the beaches, and central LA. Long Beach Airport is 8 miles southwest. The Lakewood Center mall was one of America's first major regional shopping centers when it opened in 1951.
