Lake Side sits at Windermere's southern tip, accessed via the A590 from M6 junction 36. The scenic B5285 runs north along the lake's western shore, whilst the A592 serves the eastern side. Steam trains on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway connect directly with lake cruises at the station platform.
