Lake Ka-Ho, IL

Lake Ka-Ho is a tiny farming community of 235 people in central Illinois, about 50 miles northeast of St. Louis. Reach it via I-55 to Exit 63 near Litchfield, then head west on local roads for 10 miles. State Route 16 connects the area to Carlinville and other county seats. The town sits among rolling corn and soybean fields typical of Macoupin County's agricultural landscape. The community's small recreational lake was created in the 1960s by damming a local creek, and visitors can still see the original concrete boat ramp from that era.
