Ladysmith is a small Northwoods city where Highway 8 crosses the Flambeau River, serving as a stop between Rhinelander and Superior. Highway 27 runs north-south through town, connecting to Hayward and Chippewa Falls. The historic covered bridge at Memorial Park spans the river downtown, creating one of northern Wisconsin's most photographed landmarks.
